The Loeal Government Commission has approached loeal bodies whose territories have common boundaries with the Taupo oounty for comment and suggestions relating to proposals that boundaries be reviewed. The Commission intended initiating a review of the functions and district of the Taupo county, according to a letter received from the Commission 's secretary, Mr T. O'Brien, by the Taupo Borough Council this week. It was explained, however,'

that before any further steps were taken in the matter, the views of other bodies were being sought. In addition to the Taupo borough. the following counties have common boundaries with Taupo county: Rotorua, Whakatane, Wairoa, Hawkes Bay, Waimarino, Rangitikei, Waitomo, Otorohanga, Matamata and Taumarunui.
