CHEAP DESALTING PROCESS
— A research worker
tests a process, known as reverse osmosis, for converting salt water into fresh water at the General Dynamics laboratory in San Diego, California. Modified cellulose acetate membranes are used in the process which may provide an inexpensive method of desalting ocean water.
