Hospital Plans For Turangi
The decision of the Gov* erment to begin the eonstruction village at Turangi has resulted in the immediate demand for a maternity home in the area, said the Taupo member for the Waikato Hospital Board, Mr J. W. Birnie. He said the board had anticipated using the Benneydale Maternity Hospital at Turangi, but it was realised that the Tongariro scheme would necessitate a larger building. In conjunction with Ministry of Works, the board is erecting a temporary hospital which will allow it to plan a permanent hospital at a later late.
