No Stand On Fluoridation

Taupo Ratepayers' Association has not made a stand for or against fluoridation of Taupo's w^ater supply, said the chairman of the association, Mr D. Bartlett, at the annual. meeting on Tuesday. He told the meeting in his report that a poll of ratepayers and residents should be made on the issue. He said that early in the year members were disturbed at Taupo Borough Council's decision to apply fluoride to the water without first holding a referendum of residents. "In response to many requests your executive circulated a petition asking for a referendum and this was signed by 300 residents. Our efforts on this occasion were in vain, however," Mr Bartlett said.
