RED CROSS DONATIONS

Taupo branch of the New Zealand Red Cross Society will this year play its part in raising money to pay for a 56-bed addition to the society 's South Korean children's Tb sanitorium. New Zealand's donation to the project will be £14,000. This will represent the cost of materials for the building. Another national project for Red Cross in 1965 will be financing Malayan nurses to this country for study purposes. In Malaya, also, the Taupo branch has donated £40 for Red Cross wrork in the area. The recent Pakistan disaster has taken its toll of the Red Cross relief fund and Taupo branch will make a donation of £50 to Wellington headquarters to help re-build this fund. The largest shipment of clothes ever to be collected by the Taupo branch will soon leav-e for Hongkong and South Korea. The women's section of the branch has been responsible for this work.
