Taupo Society Of Arts Meets To See Two Films

The recently-formed Taupo Society of Arts held its first meeting last week when most of the 40 members wratched instructiop films from the National Film Library. The films were The Artists Proof and Potter's World. The society's committee has drawn up the year's programme of activities. In July there will be a landscape painting trip; a criticism evening will be held in August. The meeting in September will cater for sculpture enthusiasts and in October the society will hold its first

, display of work, which wrill be open to members and guests only. In November the last landscape trip of the year will be held and the year will finish with another film evening. There was a suggestion at the last meeting that the society might hold an arts ball later in the year. Plans for this may be discussed at future meetings. The group meets at the Taupo-nui-a-Tia College on the second Monday of each | month and prospective mem!bers are welcome to attend. - . . ■
