Taupo Youth Centre expected to make over £1000 at its Christmas carnivM last year, but the actual amount was about £5Qp» said the president, Mr A. Armstrong, in his annual report. He told the annual meeting of the centre, on Thursday, that considering the amount of work put into running the *show the profits were not worth while. "The only reason we dfd not make bigger profits was the lack of public support," he said. "We have argued the reason why we did not get support, hut no one has been able to give an explanation. "It was beeause of this •* that we arranged with Taupo Borough Council to call tenders for the Christmas use of the Domain? soundshell and Memorial Hall."
