CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Five small kittens nearly froze to death after an unknown Taupo person left them on a street in the town one bitterly cold night last week. ■ The discovery of the kittens was brought to the notice of the Taupo area inspector and president of the S P.C.A., Mr V. R. Hyde, who said he was ! shocked at the news and the callous behaviour shown by the owner of the animals. "The kittens were in poor condition, two were suffering from eye trouble and I one had to he destroyed," ihe said. | Mr Hyde will attempt to jfind the original owners of the kittens.
