PUBLIC OPINION
HAZARD Sir, — There is a very bad traffic hazard at the northern approach to your town near Woolworths. Southbound vehicles can get ensnarled in traffic from three directions, plus the poor helpless shoppers who have parked outside these shops. I seem to remember a pedestrian crossing nearby too. To get out of the scrummage unhurt, I had to drive with two wheels up on a traffic island. Meanwrhile, north-bound traffic proceeds unhampered on a through-way by a tennis court. It is a fact that the traffic island is too close to the shops and matters would be improved if it were moved about three feet eloser to the tennis courts. Except for that trip through "Huka" we thought Taupo a nice town, even in the holidays. — Yours, etc.,
K.
PARKES,
Lower Hutt.
