Nearly £4000 Extra On Road Work
The Taupo County Council j has approved the payment of extra expense on a Tirohanga Road contract of approximately £4000. The county engineer, Mr G. B. Burton, explained that the excess had been due | m^inly to the need for additional earth works caused by moisture-containing material being encountered and for additional culverting. The differenee in cost amounted to about 30 per cent. on the consultants' estimates. It was resolved to seek an explanation from the consultants. - .
