Taupo Public Enthusiastic
Enthusiasm for the Taupo Yacht Club's Cabaret evening, held in the Memorial Hall on Saturday, has persuaded the club to eonsider holding another evening like it in about a year's time. The £100 made from the evening will go toward the clubhouse fund. The evening was the first major money-making scheme used by the club to raise funds for the project. The style of the cabaret was to the approval of the 230 guests who were able . to enjoy refreshments j throughout the evening j and at the same time fwatch a floor show. The club has thanked the many people who assisted in making the evening a success. Some of the hardest worked of this group were the waiters, who were made up from junior members of the club. There were a number of comments on the agility of Ihe young people as they moved among the tables carrying trays for the guests, among whom were the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs J. E. Story, Mrs Rona Stevenson, MP, and representatives of the I Taupo borough and county ! councils.
