ATTENDANCE CRITICISED

Although there are 890 members in the Taupo St. John Ambulance Association, only seven attended the annual meeting on Tuesday. The president, Mr J. E. Story, was critieal of this lack of public interest in the association's affairs. It was indieative of the apathy of the public. Members said that younger couples were badly needed to join the association to replace older members who may ultimately wish to retire. Superintendent of the nursing division, Mrs J. E. Booth, said there was sufficient population in Taupo for a strong membership. The ambulance section played its part in providing a service.
