LEECH STARRED IN A GRADE
MEDAL ROUND
International player T. S. Leech starred in a medal round at the Taupo Golf Club on Sattirday. He was round in 67, five under bogey, to win the A grade division of the event with 68 nett from a plus one handicap. Leech was six under bogey going to the short 16th, but he took four at the tricky oneshotter. The B grade section was won by R. Kerridge, 71 nett. Leech also won the A grade stableford event with 40 points, with W. Dolman, 38 points, runner-up. Kerridge, 37 points, was suocessful in the B grade stableford and M. J. Morel was second with 34 points. A stableford competition on Sunday afternoon was won by an Auckland visitor, R. Grierson, on a ccunt-back from . Leech. Both had cards of 39 points. Then followed W. J. Shaw 37 points and M. J. Morel 35 points.
Miss J. Cooper was the winner of a ladies' stableford event on Sunday with 37 points, followed by Mrs , Cuthbert 35 points. The junior pennant team to play at Te Puke on Sunday next is: R. W.
