OVER 100 WENT TO SCHOOL SOCIAL EVENING

Last week tlie Taupo Home and School association held a most successful parents-meet-teachers social evening at the Memorial Hall. Over 100 ' people wei'e present. Mr J. K. Bogue, master of ceremonies. opened the prograinme by introducing teachers to parents, and a prograinme of alternate dances and items followed. The items included a bracket of j songs by Miss L. McBetli, accompaiiipd j by Mr 1). IMcKenzie, a piano duet by Miss J. E. Armstrong and Mr McKenzie, a song by IMiss Armstrong and Mr II. F. Fearn, acconipanied by Mrs J. M. Sherwood on the piano. After snpper, Mr McKenzie acconipanied by Miss Armstrong played two numbers on a recorder, and tlie final item on tlie prograinme was a bracket of songs by Mr Fearn, acconipanied by Miss Armstrong on the piano. When the lieadmaster, Mr G. W. Foote, asked those present if they thought furtlier evenings should be held, the response was a unanimous "yes."
