Were They Called Too Late?

RESCUE organisations generally do not call in deerstalkers' association members soon enough when persons are lost, according to the conferenee of the New Zealand Deerstalkers' Association at Dunedin reeently. Taupo delegates, Mr A. Pattersen and K. East, who have returned, say that at the conferenee, delegates spoke of an instance reeently in the South Island where two girls were located too late. It was agreed that deerstalkers were better equipped for searehes through their knowledge of the country, their endurance, tracking, and so on, than many other organisations now called upon in emergencies.
