Kerr 155, G. Thomas 158, J. Longstaff 161, It. Ellis 162, T. Leech 163, J. O'Neill 163, G. Barlow 166. Intermediate : J. B. Thomas 170, T. Piice 172, G. McDonnell 174, W. T. Irviue 176, L. E. Pearse 178, S. Columb 370, C. Leech 181, J. Hurrell 181. Junior: C. Golson 180, II. Ilullten 102, J. Watson 105, G West 105, R. Reid 100, F. Bostock 205, N. Williams 206, G. Potts 210. One-Stroke Margin The outstanding performance of E. M. Smit li in qualifying top with an average round of par figures, was particularly noteworthy. Ilis third round of 70-2-68 give him the official course reeord by oue stroke. Before tliat several players, including Guy Ilorne and Ernie Southernden, and Smith liimself liad returned scores of 71. It was expected that oue or more of the Hawke's Bay and Waikato players would break 70 during fhe previous weekend but tliis did not liappen. A consolation match to include those players who returned at least two cards in the qualifying rounds, will be played.
