BRIDE-TO-BE GIVEN KITCHEN SHOWER EVENING AT TAUPO
Members of tlie post office staff gathered at Mrs C. Breeds' home last week for a kitchen shower evening for Miss Yvonne Sharp, who was married last Saturday at tlie Presbyterian Church. Miss Sharp wore apple-green figured nylon with a red-fringed stole. She was accompanied hy her mother, Mrs L. Sharp, who wore black-and-gold figured tie-silk with a black-and-gold stole, and by the bridegroom's mother, Mrs Marker, of Sydney, who had a hlack A-line barathea suit with blue accessories. Her hridesmaids-to-be, Miss Carol Ann Daken, of Wellington, and Miss Cynthia Taylor, were in wild-rice and apricot, and charcoal respectively. Joey Williams provided lively music, interspersed with games and items. A tasty supper Avas served at .10 o'clock. Noteworthy f ea ture of tlie table was a pink heart-shaped cake. | tlie centre of which was filled with j fresh flowers, and another formed an umbrella shape, to carry out tlie theme j of the shower evening. Mrs Breeds called upon the guest of honour to open her many and varied parcels, to tlie general delight of those present, after which she made a sliort speech of thanks to the givers. Among those present were Kae Howie, Pam Darlingtoii, Ann Ralston. Nan Rameka/ Joan Kniglit, Sliona George, Diaria Horne, Audrey Patchett. Becau.se of iliness, a number of others were unahi e to he present.
