JAYCEES' FIRST PROJECT IS CLEANING UP OLD SETTLERS' CEMETERY
Taupo Jaycees' first project will he tlie cleaning-up of tlie Old Settlers' Cemetery on Spa Iioad on tlie afternooii of Saturday August 31. They de-c-ided upon that at tlieir tea-meetiUg last Monday niglit. Ahout 30 were present at the meeting, despite tlie ahsence of several members suffering from influenza. Messrs Bfuce Gihbs and Bill Lemberg talkecl on tlie four-sided Jaycee badge of action, fellowsliip, education and service, the most important being the first. Guest speaker of tlie evening was the Mayor, Mr J. E. Story, who spoke upon horough affairs. and traeed the development of Taupo to the present time. Questions were asked, and there was a spirited .diseussion among members. - -
