Leonarcl Vincent Rixon, the mau who on May 13 passecl the Taupo fi're-engine and water-carrier on their way to a fire at Waipahihi, was fiticcl £7 10s and £1 costs for driving in a dangerous manner. and his licence was suspended for two months, when he appeared before Mr WT. A. Harlow. S.M., at Taupo Police Court. Traffic Officer R. A. S. Miller said that both the lire-eiigine and a truck had to brake and swerve sharply through Rixon's dangerous driving. Mr Harlow told Rixon: Thsre is no getting away from the fact that you drove to the common danger, and put other people in peril.
