Philadelphia, who scored her initial success in open eompany in the Taumarunui Cup on the same eourse 011 July 27, may improve her record when she competes in. the Martin Tims Handicap . at the Waipa Racing Club's meeting at Te Awamutu on Saturday. The Martin Tims Handicap, the first leg of the double, has drawn 14 aceeptors, the second leg, the Punui Tlandicap, having attracted one starter less.

When she last raced at Te Awamutu a week or two ago Philadelphia scored by the barest of margins in a stirring finish with Totaranui and James Fox. The judge called Totaranui first but a photofinish showed that Philadelphia had prevailed by the barest of margins. This time James Fox will not.be on hand but Totaranui should again test Philadelphia. This four-year-old Fox; bridge-Winning Flight mare, which is trained by W. J. Pratt at Cambridge for Mrs IX H. Blackie, was responsible for a noteworthy effort on July 27 insofar as she was buried in the early running but maintained a long ruri right until the finish.
