FINES FOR BREACHES OF TRAFFIC LAWS IN TAUPO DISTRICT
A variety of cases involving breaches of the road code came before Mr W. A. Harlow, S.M., at Taupo Court. Fines were imposed on the following : Exeeeding 30 miles an hour with a heavy motor-vehicle : Peter Northcroft, of Turangi, £4 10s and costs £1; Cyril Ernest Baker, of Taupo, £7 and costs £3 ; Sytze Luinstra, of Turangi, £3 and costs £1. Exeeeding 30 miles an hour in a restricted area : George Thomas Andrews, of Taringamotu, £2 and costs £1; Mervyn Joseph Morel, £2 10s and costs £1. For exeeeding 40 miles an hour with. pillion passenger, Francis Te Kauru, of Ohaki, £6 10s and costs £1. Failure to give way to traffic on the right cost John Harvey Sims, company manager, of Palmerston North, a fine of £5, costs £1 10s and witnesses' expenses £3 5s. For operating a vehicle on the Atia-muri-Marotiri main highway, when for the time being the Taupo County Commissioner had prohibited it, cost Tokoroa Transport Ltd., £9 and costs £4, and John Daniel Bell, of Rotorua, £3 10s and costs £1. No warrant of fitness : Glen Hickey, of Tauranga, £1 and costs £1 ; Leslie John Phillip Rossiter, of Murapara, £1 5s and costs £1 ; Thomas Raymond, of Taupo, 15s and costs £1. Failure to keep to the left : Mervyn Joseph Morel tined £2 10s and costs £1. Insuffieient lights : Glen Hickey, of Maketu, £3 10s and costs £1 ; Leslie John Phillip Rossiter, of Muraparu, £3 10s and costs £1. Exeeeding axle weights : William Robert Musson, of Rotorua, four charges, costs £1 : fined £3 10 s and costs £1 ; fined £5 and costs £1 ; fined £1 10s and costs £1 ; S-. and H. Transport, Ltd., of Taupo, finecl £2 5s and costs £1 ; J. S. Burrows, Ltd., of Upper Atiamuri, fined £5 and costs £1 ; Edward Cedric Ruhi, of Rotorua, fined £1 15s and costs £1.
