TREE PLANTING AT SPA SCHOOL ON SATURDAY
O11 Saturday afternoon the Mayor, Mr J. E. Story, and the Taupo County Cominissioner, M r A. II. O'Keefe, will plant the first two trees in tlie grounds of the new secondary school in Spa Road, and afterwards donors of trees may plant tlieir own, if tliey wisli. The ceremony will operi at two o'clock. Mr AY. L. Haines, chairnian of the school committee, told tlie Times that the committee was grateful to the public for its generosity, through which 110 less than £110 had been subscribed for trees which in years to eome would make the school grounds a pleasant plaee.
The project had aroused eonsiderable interest, he said, and he hoped that all who had given trees, as well as those interested in the welfare of the school would be present on Saturday afternoon. There will be afternoon tea for those present at three oYlock, and afterwards the remaining trees will be planted.
