TWO MEN FINED FOR DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR IN BEER-GARDEN FOYER
Two men wlio appeared before .justiees at Taupo Police Court last Monday morning were each fined £4 15s and costs for disorderly behaviour in the foyer of tlie Wairakei Hotet beer-garden last Saturday evening, and £1 10s each and costs for damaging a utensil at the Taupo police statiOIl. , |ftf) O11 the bencli were Messrs A. IJ. Reid and V. M. Simpson, J.P's. C011stable X>. -W. Mills prosecuted. The men concerned were Tame or Tommy Hunia, 40, millhand, and At inter Hunia, 32, linesman. Constable Mills said that shortly before six o'clock, Constable I i. B. McNaughton was on duty in the neighbourhood of the hotel when he saw a brawl in progress in the foyer of the garden-bar. About eight people were involved. Constable McNaughton intervened to break it up, and ordered those involved to leave the premises. The two ac0 used continued to fight, so ]ie arrested them. They were taken to the Taupo police station, and bailed out later that evening.
