PARKING RESTRICTION IN MAIN STREET SUGGESTED

The Borough Oouneil meeting held on Wednesday, January 18, had before it a letter from Mr M. L. Svensen, acting-secretary, Taupo Businessmen's Association, suggesting on behalf of the Association that the restriction of parking on the eastern side of Tongariro Street to a period of one hour be considered. The Association's letter also stated that it had been suggested at its genera'l meeting that 30 miles per hour •restriction signs be placed at both ends of Tongariro Street, and that it was felt that this was an urgent need. On the motion of Cr Morris, seconded by Or K. O. Lewis, the Council decided to ask the traffic officer to attend the next meeting of the Council to discuss the matters raised by the Association.
