Municipal Motor Camp

In a report to the Borough Council dated January 16, the camp caretaker, Mr C. B. Dent, stated that in the period December 24 to January 10, the number of cars booked in had been 1080, and the number of caravans 540. At an average of 3.5 persons per car, 3780 persons had passed through the camp in the period mentioned. Camp fees collected had totalled £536 12s 6d. Mr Dent stated that from experience this year and last, he considered that camp sites must be marked out in some permanent manner if a proper register of users was required to be kept, and that the minimum site area should be not less than 20ft by 25ft, with some larger sites required.
