BUILDING DIFFERS FROM PERMIT PLAN

Mr C. C. Webb, Borough Council Building Inspector, reported to the reeent meeting of the Council, that he had inspected a building that was being erected in Rokino Road and had found that it was not'in accordance with the plans submitted, nor with the building permit issued. He had marked the building permit when issuing it "Strictly not to be used for human habitation." He had told the owner that he was to do no more work on the building until the matter had been placed before the Council. It appeared to him that the owner intended using the building, called a "store shed," for temporary or intermittent living accommodation. He enclosed a copy of all the correspondence, together with the plan and application form, and recommended that the owner be instructed to remove the building from its present site to the position originally applied for on the section and for which a permit was granted. On the motion of Cr Yedder, seconded by Cr Swan, and carried, it was decided that the owner be instructed to remove the building to the original site as applied for per plan, failing which he be instructed to demolish the building, the building meantime not to be used for human habitation.
