A move to induee Ihe Government to set aside souie 5000 acres as a trial block where hunting hy bow alone would be permitted was mentioned by Mr S. Mitchner at the annual | meeting of the New Zealand Archery Association in Gisborne. Mr Mitchner said the New Zealand Bow Hunting Society was negotiating with the Wild Life Division to obtain the area, which was in the vicinity of Taupo, and it was possible that in the near future it would be available. The society was aiming at the eventual establishment of such areas throughout both isl-ands. The 1957 national tournament is to be held by the Wellington association at Levin.
