Mr Gerard Ward, son of Mr and Mrs Ralph Ward, of Taupo, has been appointed a lecturer in the Department of Geography, Auckland University. He will take up his post at the beginning of the 1956 University year. Mr and Mrs G. W. Johns, who have been residing in Taupo for the past eighteen months, have left for Putaruru, where Mr Johns has t^ken over the management of the Putaruru Hotel. Prior to coming to Taupo, Mr Johns was for six years manager of the Grand Pacific Hotel, Fiji.
