Water Supply Loan
The Borough Council on December 7 passed a resolution by way of1' special order authorising the raising in New Zealand of the Council's water supply loan of £130,000 for a term of 30 years. Security for the loan will be a special rate of 3 7-8d in the £ on the unimproved value of all rateable property. Though the interest rate was formally mentioned as being 4 per cent., the actua.1 rate now payable will be 4| per cent. A poll is required if 5 per cent. of ratepayers demand one in writing.
