LIBRARY COMMITTEE FAREWELLS MRS E. F. WRIGHT

Members of the Citizens' Committee of the Taupo Public Library met at the home of Mr and Mrs N. A. Duthie, Rahui Street, on Friday afternoon, December 9, to bid farewell to one of their number, Mrs E. F. Wright Presenting a crystal bowl to Mrs Wright on behalf of fellow members, Mr Duthie, chairman of the committee, referred to the fact that Mrs Wright had been a member since July, 1953, and that she had always rendered cheerful assistance when required. While congratulating Mrs Wright on her husband's promotion to managership of the Bank of New Zealand at Cambridge, Mr Duthie expressed the regret of those present at the loss to Taupo. Mrs Duthie presented Mrs Wright with a bouquet of carnations. Guests wandered in the garden, and took part in a competition, the result being a tie between Mrs J. E. Barton and Mrs Wright, the latter winning the draw. At a subsequent committee meeting Mrs Ooster and Mrs Fooks were elected to the committee.
