PRESENTATION TO MISS T. M. McMILLAN
At the Taupo Free Kindergarten Association's cabaret dance in the War Memorial Hall, on Saturday evening last. His VVorship the Mayor, Mr J. E. Story, on behalf of the people of Taupo, made a preservation to Miss T. M. McMillan, District Nurse, who is shortly to be transferred to Christchurch. In making the presentation, a painting of a Taupo scene, Mr Story referred to Miss McMillan s outstanding work and her devotion to duty, his remarks being supported by Dr D. A. Richards, and Mr G. W. Foote. The applause of the large gathering left no doubt of the high regard in which Miss McMillan was held. In returning thanks Miss McMillan said she would keep in touch with Taupo through the local paper. The singing of "For She s a Jolly Good Fellow" concluded the proceedings. That the presentation was made at a Kindergarten Association gathering was felt by Association members to be very fitting, for Miss McMillan had been very largely responsible for its formation.
