Ratepayers, Residents, and indeed Everyone in Taupo Borough or County, are urged to attend a Public Meeting at the WAR MEMORIAL HAU On TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, at 8 p.m. ihe OBJECT of the Meeting is to consider the desirability or otherwise of appointing a Public Relations Officer. It is felt by many that Taupo, with its unique tourist attractions and facilities, is not receiving the publicity to which it is entitled. WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT ? WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT ? TAUPO RABBIT BOARD. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Taupo Rabbit Board at its Meeting held on Thursday 15th September 1955 passed a resolution under the powers conferred on it by the Rabbit Destruction Regulations 1949 as amended by Order-in-Council, serial number 1954/251, dated 22nd December 1954, prohibiting for a period of six calendar months from the 7th day of October 1955:— 1. All trapping and shooting of rabbits within its district, and 2. The unauthorised poisoning of or laying of poison for rabbits within its district. Any person wishing to obtain exemption from the operation of this prohibition should apply to the Board in writing and any such exemption granted shall be given in writing under the hand of the Secretary of the Board. While the prohibition of which notice is hereby given remains in force, any person, who, except insofar as he is exempted by the Board in writing, does any of the acts hereby prohibited, and any person who causes, or suffers any other person not so exempted to do any such acts, shall be deemed to have committed a breach of the Rabbit Destruction Regulations 1949.
