GOLF CLUB'S ANNUAL BALL
The Taupo Golf Club's annual ball, held in the War Memorial Hall on Saturday evening, September 16, was well attended and was a typically successful and enjoyable adcTition to the Club's list of such events. The floral arrangements on the stage, featuring spring flowers and done by Mrs I. B. Logan and Miss Tomkies, were most attractive, and included flowers kindly donated by Mr W. King and Mrs L. Stephenson. The buffet supper was not the least' of the evening's attractions, with a varied and plentiful supply of good things. Mr Garth Marsland was in charge of the kitchen and service, and music was supplied by Bill Dolman's orchestra. Among those present were : ' Mrs J. E. Story, who wore white tulle, embossed with black . polka dots, with black bolero; Mrs L. Stephenson, mushroom pink lace wo.rn with spray of spring flowers ; Mrs J. Woodward, lemon nylon tulle with matching stole and corsage ; Mrs K. E. Young, sequin embroidered bronze net over green taffeta ; Mrs Jpk Foote, gold slipper satin ; Miss J. A. Branson, silver green sculptured nylon ; Mrs G. Potts, bronze lame jacket worn with black skirt; Mrs G. Barlow, red taffeta. Mrs Crabbe, white embossed crepe; Mrs J. Price, grey corded taffeta ; Mrs K. Rameka, black lace over fuchsia faille; Mrs Hullten, royal blue faille with cyclamen and royal blue tulle skirt; Mrs Fearn, pink and cyclamen brocade ; Mrs G. Patchett, black organza with silver and black stole; Mrs I. Logan, crimson polished cotton with silver sequins ; Mrs T. Kent, sequin studded black wool jersey ; Miss Sonia Burrell (Feilding), shell pink organza. Mrs J. Dixon, pale blue spotted net; Mrs G. Marlow, green and black striped dacron; Mrs J. Murray, black and silver tie silk; Mrs B. Bennett, lemon broderie anglaise; Mrs J. Watson, pastel pink organza ; Miss B. Watson, peach net over taffeta ; Mrs J. Young, lemon and white sculptured nylon ; Mrs Bostock, emerald green faille ; Mrs Fooks, floral satin with white tulle stole ; Mrs Knuckey (Hastings), bottle green panne velvet with diamante clip ; Mrs Grant (Hastings), black and white check taffeta with wine velvet trim. Mrs L. Schmidt, black panne velvet; Mrs E. Yates, lilac net with matching stole; Miss M. Smith, white tulle with satin applique; Mrs R. Mo Millan, black lace over bottle green satin; Mrs G. Colbeck, lilac and white checked faille; Mrs A. L. Graham, black matalasse crepe; Mrs R. Sinclair, sky blue marquisette; Mrs G. G. Beale, gold pin spot tie silk with black stole; Mrs T. Baker, black velvet with silver embroidered belt ; Miss H. Andrews, lacquered net over cyclamen silk ; Miss F. Dent, purple moire taffeta; Mrs H. Mitchell. royal blue and white nylon faille with silver girdle : Miss C. Rameka, pastel pink flooked nylon; Mrs X. Ogden, figured green orlon ; Mrs M. P. Tierney, silver and blue brocade. Miss J.
