RATEPAYER'S COMPLAINT NO CONCERN OF BOROUGH COUNCIL
At the Borough Council meetings of Wednesday August 17, a letterll from a ratepayer outlined troubles |l experienced with the flue of a heat-1 ing stove installed twro years ago. 1 The writer stated that when the exfc3 pensive unit was used a thick treacle«jj like substance ran down the flue pipe 1 on to the fioor. The smell was sojj bad he had to shut the room up. Jfl The stove had been installed by a|l plumber and another plumber hadjS been commissioned to rectify t hejfl trouble. Since plumbers were resNf| tered and had responsibilities he ha® written to the Health Departmentji but received no reply. Councillo™ considered the matter was no con|3 cern of the Council but merely *f| domestic affair of the writer's, and|gg was decided that a reply be seflt fjB that effect. -
