Following snggestions from the Indoor Bowling Club and the Taupo Dramatic Society, the Borough Council decided at its meeting on August 17 to obtain a lock for the main entrance door of the War Memorial Hall of a type enabling the door to be opened from the outside when the hall was in use. It was also decided to have a portable screen placed inside the entrance door to the auditorium, so that light from the foyer could not shlne in if the door were opened during stage performances, and also to minimise draught when the door was so opened.
