BADMINTON NOTES

Visitors From Tauranga On Saturday afternoon, August 14, the Tauranga and Taupo Badminton Clubs contested an 18 games tournarnent in the Wai* Memorial Hall, the result being a draw with each club winning nine games- The Tauranga visitors took a total of 201 points, eight less than the home club. Each team consisted of six men and six women. Tlrts visitors showed plenty of dash and court-craft and some good smashes, especially Mrs W. McLeod and Johnston, who never failed when Taupo gave tliem an opportunity. The Tauranga team were guests of the Taupo club at a dance in the evening, and later of Mr and Mrs P. Staines for supper and a tireside chat at their home. Results of the games follow, the Taupo players being listed first in all cases. Ladies' doubles : Mrs G. Davies and Mrs Philpott 9, Mrs W.
