Last winter 1500 ewes «on the Victor Perez ranch in New Mexico were dressed in jackets ma.de pf 10 ounce duck. . The rest of the flock remained unclothed. When the sheep were shorn the fleeces of the jacketed ewes carried 20 to 25 per cent. less dirt than the unjacketed ones. C The experiment was carried out by John Stauder, sheep and wool specialist, at the New Mexico Agricultural and Mining College. Flock-owners in dusty New Mexico are convinced that Stauder has found a simple way to increase their wool profits.
