Kimbo's Girl Friend
Sir, — I am a lady dog and an ad-| mirer of clever Kimbo. I am grleyed 'j that "Rugbeia" has seen fit to wfitel sting-tailed letters about him. My mistress says that not so long ^ ago Taupo was a charmingly infor'ij mai little place where humans, dogs | and germs lived happy together. If a doggy visltor was ill-manneredl enough to place his bone on the seed-J bed, or chase puss up a tree, thei usual attitude was "Live and letj Live," or 4Dogs will be dogs." But times change, and my mistress'J thinks I should tell Kimbo to keep|| his nose out of shops because "Pro|| gress" and a lot of fussy old laws! have come to Taupo. Besides, no fm that the other dogs know what he isj up to, they may decide to do likewisS making life increasingly difficult forS the poor grocer, deflnitely not a nice j thing to do. With love, I am, etc., yj KIMBO'S GIRL FRIEND. 1
