BASKETBALL NOTES
A bright. match was played on the Taupo High School courts last Saturday between Huka and Stuarts, the former winning 18 — 17. The forwards of both teams played well, and M. Jones (Huka), in particular, combining with B. Dench, impressed with her field work and accurate shooting. This pair outplayed the Stuarts' defence decisively. The Stuarts' forwards had more opportunities of shooting than their opponents but were not as accurate. Games played at Tokaanu last Suturday resulted as follows : College Old Girls 20, Tokaanu High School 7 ; Tokaanu Women 6, Waipahihi 1. The Mokai-Taupo High School match has been deferred. The previous week's games resulted : Taupo H.S. 15, Spa 5 ; C.O.G. 23, Stuarts 4; Huka 9, Mokai 6. The selectors Nwill have some diflk culty in choosing the final representative team in view of the high standard of play shown during the recent trials. All representative finalists, including the, following, are required at the Taupo School courts at 3.15 p.m. to-morrow, S#turday : Forwards, Alison Wall, Margaret Fulljames ; centre, Christina Pitiroi ; defence, Betty RamekaGames for to-morrow, Saturday, are as follows : Waipahihi v.
