MARGARET SWEENEY BENEFIT DANCE
The benefit dance* organised by * members of the Borough Council administrative staff, to raise funds h> assist Miss Margaret Sweeney in her forthcoming English Channel swim, will be held in the War Memorial Hall to-morrow, Saturday, evening. All proceeds will go to augment funds being raised to defray Miss Sweeney's expenses. The organisers hope that Taupo people will support the effort to help Miss Sweeney, the first swimmer to swim Rake Taupo from • near Tokaanu to Taupo, in her entr.v for the annual international English Channel race in August. Miss Sweeney and- her coach, Mr F. A. Hay, have accepted the committee's inVitatlon to be present at the dance.
