Taupo Beat Maroa In the senior competition game played at Taupo on Sunday last Taupo defeated Maroa 6-nil. The first score came after some 20 mim utes play when Panapa kicked a goal from a penalty on the twentyfive. During the first half play was pretty even, with Taupo appearing to have a slight margin over Maroa, feoth teams worked hard, but though there were occasional flashes of good Jplay the general effect was of a somewhat uninteresting game. ,Just on half time Robert Davis, following up after the ball had been kicked on, touched down to be awarded a try. The kick failed making the score 6-nil. In the second portion of the second half play livened up, and both teams friade a better showing, with Maroa in Taupo territory during the last few minutes, but there was no further score. D. Panapa, at first fiveeighths for Taupo showed himself as a resourceful player, with a flair for tackling low and "covering up."
