Fishing Charge Dismissed
A charge of fishing without a licence brought by the Conservator of Wildlife against a person umder the age of 17 years was heard in the Children's Court at Taupo before Mr W. A. Harlow, S.M., on Friday, May 27. The child was in 'a boat in the company of her father and was stated to have been holding a trolling rod when the ranger appeared. The Magistrate dismissed the information under Section 17 of the Child Welfare Act, 1927, which empowers such action when the Magistrate is of the opinion that the matter is trivial.
