WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
A meeting of the Countrywomegl Institute was held in Rickit's HallB Wednesday, May 18, there beingj good attendance. Three new memM were welcoroed, and birthday sprd| presented. Mrs King gave a talk on her recfl visit to Tawa Flat, inentioning that other institutes use, and J article was read from the Home n Countrv Journal on the headquarm flats in Wellington. The roll call was, "Old artijl treasured by members," wifl brought to light some interestiilgM tiques, amongst them being afl necklace and bracelet, a plaited |fl ring, half-farthing, tea caddy, andj| ring 180 years old. The golden thought was a versilH Mrs Gradwell. Points for the month's competlw were: Best bloom, Mrs Aimold;-|B ter, Miss McClymont and Mrs lor equal ; vegetables, Mrs Taylorfl "Naming the cake," a competflB arranged by Mrs McBeth, was;9 by Mrs K. Johnson.
