Helicopter in Taupo
The Hiller helicopter, operated by James Aviation, Ltd., passed through Taupo on Friday night, May 13, on its specially designed trailer. The machine attracted considerable attention in Tongariro Street. It was en route by road to Hawkes Bay, where on the Saturday and Sunday flights were made -at Napier and Hastings. The visit was arranged by the Napier Skating Glub to raise funds to send 15-year-old Valerie Whyte, of Napier, senior womeu's solo skating champion of New Zealand, to the world championships at Barcelona later this year.
