IMPROVEMENTS AT CEMETERY
During the -Borough Council's discussion of Estimates for the current financial year, at the special meeting held on April 27, Cr K. EL Young referred to the need for provision for upkeep of the cemetery. Cr K. O. Lewis agreed, and referred to plans made for improvements some time ago, when it was proposed to gravel the entrance drive and start on a lawn cemetery. Crs Morris and Barton also agreed on the need for active steps being taken to improve the cemetery. Cr : Swan suggested that one-eighth of a penny should be added to the general rate for the year, which would pro- 1 duce £270 odd, to be utilised Sor the " purpose mentioned. The council de- j cided to make the provision suggest- 1 ed, and the Estimates were amended accordingly. " v
