MAJESTIC THEATRE
The double feature programme at the Majesfic tonight (Friday) includes Starrett and Burnette in a Western, "Rough, Tough West," and "Fair Wind to Java," a robust drama of piracy and adventure in Trucolor. At both matinee and evening performances tomorrow patrons may see "The Desert Rats," a stirring sequel to "The Desert Fox," with James Mason as Rommel, and several English and Australian actors with Western Desert experience. A lavish technicolor film, "Sangaree," brings real-life thrills to the screen on Monday. It is based on a great American novel by Frank G. Slaughter, set in the post-American Revolution period, which delighted thousands with its intriguing story of romance and adventure. Tuesday's picture is "Yankee Pasha," a best-seller frontier story of about the same period, starring Jeff Chandler and Rhonda Fleming. Wednesday's picture is "Torch Song," in which Joan Crawford first appeared in Technicolor. Michael Wilding takes the role of a blind pianist, in preparation for which he learnt for a fortnight to depend on the assistance of Duke, a "SeeingEye" dog.
