AMBULANCE AND NURSING CADETS WIN CUPS

At the weekly mfeeting of tlie Nursing Cadets of the Taupo St. John Ambulance Nursing Division, held in Rickit's Hall on Monday evening, March 14, Mrs GraCe Booth, Lady Superintendent, presented a silver cup, which she had donated to be won outright, to the nursing cadet adjudged to have shown the most improvement during the preceding year. The winner was Miss Keitha Beale. In congratulating her, Mrs Booth spoke to the cadets on their work and the ideals inspiring it. She mentioned that there would again be a cup for the nursing cadet making the most improvement during the current year. On Wednesday evening, March a similar award was made at the meeting of the Ambulance Cadets, when a silver cup given by the Brigade Superintendent, Mr Arthur Kennedy, for annual competition, for the most improved Ambulance cadet, was presented by the President of the St. John Ambulance Association, Mr W. J. Stevens. The winner was Cadet Robertson, who received also a miniature cup. Mr Stevens congratulated the winner on his success, and in a talk to the boys spoke of the Brigade's mission and the need to be prepared for any emergency that might arise calling for their services.
