PROPOSAL TO FORM TRAMPING CLUB

In this issue of the Times an advertisement appears calling a public meeting of all interested ih the formation of a tramping club, to be held at the Taupo School on Tuesdfly evening, March 29. ,We understand that it is proposed that the Ciub should provide fof younger members, in addition to aciults. v The conveners, MesSrs (i. Foote, A. H. McGregor, A. H. O'Keefe and E. F. Wright^ have all had experience of the activities of such organisations, and feel that such a club would be of considerable interest and of great value to many members, both young and not-so-young, of the community. There can be no doubt that the country, surrounding Taupo is particularly interesting from the point * of view of those interested ih tramping, and in any of the many interests ariSing in connection with it. : It would indeed be difficult to find other towns with such a wealth of -natural at.tractions for the tramper within such easy range. The. proposed meeting, too, should provide an opportunity for . action by those who feel that there ih a need in~the~ community for more organisations catering, for the interests of .the younger generatiom i \ * f ** - .
