The population of Tokom roa, the residential area for the l people of the Kinleith pulp, paper | and timber industries, is progressing !' towards the 6000 mark. Mr Currie said that the South Auckland Education Board has plans in hand for a unique educational scheme to. be erected on 40 acres of land already acquired at Tokoroa. There will be three schools, a posr-primary, an intermediate and a primary school with six football fields and two hockey grounds and five residences for teachers all on the one area. ^ Plans have been approved for a primary school to be located at Amesfield, a new residential and industrial area adjacent to Tokoroa.
