TOWN PLAN APPEALS
A special meeting of the Bormgh Council, held . on Monday, February 14, discussed matters relatiug to appeals to the Town and Count»v Plam ning Appeal Board, against various Council decisions on ohjections to the Councirs Town Plan Scheme. Mr A. L. Gabites, Tow^n Planning coni svdtant, was present. The objection lodged by the Ministry of AYorks, the purport of which was to have a road reserve strip 33 feet in width provided along the lake side of State Highway No. 23 (Lake Terrace Road) extending from the old Napier Road to Taharepa Road, was discussed. It was decided to introduce, after consultation with the National Roads Board, a modification of the Town Planning Scheme to provide for widening the highway, and having regard to this future modification it was decided to diaallow the Minis'try's objection dated April 23, 1954.
